As the statistics on domestic violence rise
I will not blame every man I meet
Most men will not see me
Which is how it should be
Sending our children
to women who are hungry
and anxious
while we go to the office
to deal with other workers
other mothers and fathers
listening
keep their tears for the dark
the nights they cannot sleep.
